About

Hesken & Junya was set-up in late 2022 by me, Daniel Morgan.

It was a career traverse for me, shifting from predominantly desk-based design to hands-on woodwork.

However, it’s not a new passion by any means. In fact, from the age of five or six I’ve made things out of wood. It all started with wooden swords and skateboard ramps and from there it progressed until it eventually became a constant side-line where I renovated houses, designed and made wardrobes, media walls, desks and installed bathrooms and kitchens for family and friends.

It gradually gathered steam until I realised it was where my true passion lay, and the demand was such that I could start to ease off the screen focused work and eventually, in 2022, move into a new workshop where woodworking became a full-time endeavour.

I’ve now refined and honed my skill-set, working predominantly in wood and have found a balance between traditional methods and cutting edge technology, using 3D apps to design and CNC to ensure precision whilst carrying out intricate joins and finishing by hand.

I also lean on a team of talented, hardworking individuals where necessary. They help me to mill locally sourced wood, assemble larger projects and transport finished pieces.

We are based across two workshops, both based on the same industrial estate in Devoran, Cornwall.

The business continues to grow and we have many exciting projects lined up for 2024.
