Doors

We do a lot of work with doors ranging from the straightforward hanging of moulded internal doors to the complete design and build of bespoke hardwood external doors.

Recent projects include; the considered restoration of a number of Victorian doors, moving the handle positions on adapted Edwardian doors, replacing all internal doors for a new style throughout a property, the build of a stud wall with sliding pocket door, replacing an unused door with a glazed hardwood panel and the bespoke design and build of a hardwood stable door.

When restoring, rather than just packing cracks and holes with filler, we match wood type and repair carefully using solid blocks and dowel, this ensures the door remains workable and maintains integrity. Any old hardware is serviced and returned to the door following painting.

We use only the finest hardware and work with a CNC router to ensure precise positioning and setting so all door mechanisms move as they should without handle or lock resistance.

We also consider door location and use hardware to suit, for instance where doors are hung externally, we use stainless hardware and apply multiple coats of oil based exterior paint so that the door lasts and evades rust.
